About Don Schreffler

Don is the son of a Nurse and a History Teacher.  Don’s father died 3 months before he was born, and his mom re-married, creating a ready-made family of 7.

He spent his early days with his four brothers and sisters living in New Jersey.  “I had an interesting youth. My parents were great believers in hard work and following through on things.

They pretty much let me find what I was interested in, but whether it was football, boy scouts, or little league,

I had to finish what I started.  They would never let me quit, so I guess that’s where I got that quality from.

I spent my summers biking, traveling to the shore, fishing and skateboarding.  I also spent a number of years studying karate and other martial arts. I stayed pretty busy with my newspaper routes, shoveling snow and other odd jobs to earn money.   My parents didn’t have a lot of money, but they made sure we understood we were loved and that we should aim high.”

After college in Florida, Don went to work in the finance and banking industries, becoming a stock and bond broker by the age of 20.  He was working for some very large investment companies and banks, and this is, in part, how he started to gain some of the tremendous knowledge base of how things REALLY work at the banks and finance companies.  “Over my 20 years in the financial business, I’ve learned the secrets to creating and managing wealth! Believe me when I tell you, the deck is stacked against you from the start.

The secrets are not being let out to the general public.

Mostly, you get half-truths or completely incorrect information from the so-called experts. I have always found it very rewarding to dig below the surface to find, identify and implement financial strategies that allow families to truly benefit from their hard work, and their assets, and thereby enjoy a more fulfilling family life.”

Don is newly married (first time around, December 10th, 2005).  He and his wife Shirley had their first child, Victoria, on January 3rd, 2008.  When Don isn’t sharpening his financial skills, or consulting with clients, he spends time with his wife at church, watching movies, eating out (they love Indian and French food), and traveling up and down the East Coast.

“I recently started volunteering in the mentoring program for young men, ages 8-12, at my church, and am an active member of the Usher Board as well.  I volunteer in many activities with my church, teach financial improvement classes for underserved families, and do financial seminars for local investment groups.  The greatest satisfaction for me is when I can truly make a difference in someone’s life”.

He is interested in local politics and actively supports our armed forces over seas.
